Lucifer season 6, which will also be the show’s last, has its most expensive episode yet. The series, which stars Tom Ellis as the titular ruler of Hell, has been a favorite among fans since it first premiered on Fox in 2016. That fan passion has kept Lucifer alive for much longer than expected: Netflix first picked Lucifer up for additional seasons after Fox cancelled it, then gave it a sixth season when many expected it to end after season 5. Lucifer season 6 completed production earlier this year, and based on the online posts from the show’s stars and producers, it was an emotional end.
Just this past weekend, Netflix dropped the remaining episodes of Lucifer season 5. The 8 episodes featured the long-awaited arrival of God (Dennis Haysbert), Lucifer’s estranged father. As the series quickly revealed, God wished to step down and have one of his sons take over. Lucifer season 5, part 2 featured plenty of surprises for fans, from a devastating death of an original character to the reveal of God’s game-changing successor.
